Chiayi City Government and Hondao Senior Citizen's Welfare Foundation held the second round of Yincai Talent Contest for people above 55 with special talents at G9 Creative Park. There were 13 senior citizens with different talents qualified for this round. Their talents include Taiwanese opera, saxophone, ocarina, xiao, yueqin, choreography, coloring, gardening, dough figurine making, and grass weaving. The judge members were all professional experts in various areas.

According to Chiayi City Government, it’s been 3 years since the Orange Generation Center first held the talent contest in 2019. It aims to discover people above 55 in Chiayi City with different talents. The center also anticipates to see dying arts through the contest and will strive to keep them alive by promoting them.

Hondao Foundation points out that the center recruited 26 people above 55 with special talents 2 years ago. The center helps them find places where they can pass down their talents or even give performances.

The Orange Generation Center states that the difference of the contest this time is that it took place ay G9 Creative Park, which allows participants to show their best on the outdoor stage. In the meanwhile, the contest also shows how Chiayi City values the importance of senior people. The center has an orientation for newly recruited members and offers training sessions on public speech, hosting skills, and 3C products. The center wishes those who get recruited could find their own value and have more opportunities to show people their talents. Feel free to contact the center for talent shows and lessons.
