New Network of Living

Arrangements in advance connect different areas for development. We build the new network of 3 east-west routes, 3 north-south routes and 3 circular lines to make transportation more convenient and secure and to drive industrial development. We plan the regional transportation network and strive for inter-city transportation.  The light rail will connect the High-Speed Railway Chiayi Station and Taiwan Railway Chiayi Station to build the route for commute and tourism.

Rong calls his family before returning home for the weekend:

“Mom! You don’t have to pick me up at the High-Speed Railways Station. It won’t take long to go home by light rail.”

Rong’s mother insists:

“Rong! Don’t bother. I will pick you up. It doesn’t take long if I ride the new routes and turn to the circular one.”

With the elevated routes and the light rail, the story above will be something common to occur. To drive or not to drive, that is the question.

  • Spotlight 1: Inter-city Transportation – 2 Rails (HSR and TRA) and Light Rail

Light Rail Connecting 2 Rails: Utilizing the light rail to connect the train station, the High-Speed Rail station, and the natural resources for tourism of Chiayi to create efficient green transmission and to prevent from traffic issues.

Railway for Commuting: Combining multiple projects to develop major industrial parks through the railway for commuting to enhance the relation between Chiayi City and Chiayi County.

Light Rail Area Development: Taking the advantages of light rail to integrate with near estates. Promoting fiscal sustainability and balance to ensure the convenience of walking and transfer facilities around the light rail stations and to enhance the overall effectiveness of the light rail.

Network enhancement for flexibility: Reserving for possible new route demands arising from future urban development, and maintaining the flexibility for the expansion.

  • Spotlight 2: Network of 3 East-west Routes, 3 North-south Routes and 3 Circular Lines

New circular lines in West District: Integrating the program for West District Development to establish new circular lines that connect Daxicuo and Liucuo.

Commuting routes to industrial parks: Considering the development of nearby industrial parks, new roads will be constructed: connecting Wenhua Road to link Minxiong Industrial Park to Xinsheng Road, connecting Xingang Industrial Park to the main route towards downtown, broadening the route that connects Jiatai Industrial Park with West District.

Main road diversion system: Integrating the new circular lines in West District and routes for commuting due to the traffic on Provincial Highway 1, Wenhua Road, Provincial Highway 18, and Mituo Road during rush hour. Implementing diversion to lower traffic flow of entering and leaving downtown.

Diversion of people and freight: Niuchou River Circular Express and Bazhang River Circular Express constructed to connect National Freeway 1 and National Freeway 3 along with the development around nearby industrial parks for efficient freight delivery. Diversion of freight and people to be achieved for the safety of road users.

Balance of East and West: New interchange in the east to avoid convergence on single route for the citizens to easily connect to National Freeway 3 and for the balance of East District and West District to enhance living functions.
